The images below show some of the work that we've undertaken ranging from medals to maps to roller blinds!! Hover above an image to find out more…..
Framed Dogs Canvas
I do a lot of work for Chris at Living Portraits and this lovely portrait of his has been printed onto canvas by Jonathon at Square Studios in Harrogate and framed with a very ornate dark brown frame by Arqadia.
Framed Wine and Bread Still Life
This painting was commissioned as a gift and the date on the bottle of wine matches the year that the lucky recipient was born. It's the first time I've used this frame, but I think the black and gold work really well with the tones in the painting.
Framed Andes map...
My customer had recently been on a walking trip to the Andes and wanted photos taken on the walk superimposed onto a map of the area. The map and photos were therefore stuck down before inserting into the frame. "Fillets" were used to keep the glass away form the artwork, but they also serve to add depth.
Framed memories of a day out at Leeds United
A signed football shirt, team sheet and photos with the players all incorporated into a single frame. Blue and yellow mountboard complement the team colours and by all accounts there was a very happy young man on Christmas day...
Framed swimming cap and medals
My customer's son won some medals in a swimming competition and my customer wanted to put them into a frame for him. The cap and medals have therefore been secured to a backboard and two apertures created to show each of them off.
Old Roller Blind given a new lease of life
My customer wanted to preserve this old roller blind which was a favourite of her granddaughter's. The blind was stitched to a backboard and a circular mount added to frame it. The plan is only to hang it for a couple of years until the granddaughter grows tired of it, but it gives pleasure in the meantime and is a good example of what can be done!
Facial Muscles Model in Box Frame
This 3D model showing the muscles in the face was quite deep so needed to be put into a frame with a deep rebate. It's been finished with acrylic rather than glass as it's going into a public area and safety is a concern.
Needlework and embroidery framing
If you're going to frame needlework or embroidery, it's need to be nice and taut. There's a few ways to do this, but one way is to stretch it around a board and then use thread to tighten it up. A great result and no tapes necessary - in other words, it's fully reversible.
Painting on board mounted in a front loader tray frame
This painting has been done on a thin artist's board and put into a front loader tray frame. The effect is of a very fine frame and it's a nice way to show something like this off. The frame itself is made of ash and has been finished with a light wash of grey paint
The Wonderful Man by Edward Monkton framed in "Duo" moulding
Limited edition poster by Edward Monkton framed with black "Duo" moulding and a blackcore Hayseed mount. The black edge gives the effect of a frame within a frame
Framed Zebra Canvas
This canvas was shipped over from Africa in a tube and stretched onto a custom made frame before being placed into a "tray" frame that surrounds it. Measuring roughly 5 ft x 3ft, the overall effect was quite spectacular and it's now hanging proudly as the centrepiece of my customer's lounge!
Framed African artwork by W Zuze
This is one of a pair of prints done by the artist W Zuze and brought over from Zimbabwe. Framed with a dark brown contemporary frame, the vibrant colours of the print really stand out. The artist supports the ZATA (Zimbabwe AIDS Treatment Assistance) Project whose website says: "he uses vivid colors to paint scenes from everyday life - things that he sees on a daily basis, using a kaleidoscope of color and bold strokes in his work, resonating with Zimbabwe culture"
Old frames freshened up!
This set of 4 antique prints had their old discoloured mounts replaced. Modern technology means that the new mounts won't discolour in the same way - no more brown bevelled edges!
